Heather & Josh’s wedding at The Chart House in Lakeville, MN was the perfect setting for their early fall celebration. With 10 hours of coverage, the day unfolded at a relaxed, intentional pace, giving them space to truly soak it all in. Nothing felt rushed. Instead, the entire day carried a joyful, easygoing energy that made every moment feel meaningful.
These two are the kind of couple you instantly adore. Heather and Josh have an infectious warmth and charisma that makes everyone around them feel at home. Their wedding day reflected that same spirit. Even when rain clouds began to gather, they never missed a beat. Their go-with-the-flow attitude and complete trust that everything would work out made the day feel effortless.
Heather spent the morning in the charming on-site bridal suite at The Chart House, surrounded by her favorite girls. Laughter filled the room as everyone got ready together. One of the sweetest moments of the morning was when Heather’s mom helped her into her stunning gown, followed by an emotional and joy-filled first look with her dad. They shared the warmest hugs and giggles, it was such a beautiful reminder of how special these quiet, in-between moments can be.
Soon after, it was time for Heather and Josh’s first look. Tucked into the property’s picturesque landscape, they saw each other for the first time that day in a private, intimate setting. Capturing their reactions and the tender exchange of private vows was so incredibly special. As if this moment wasn't sweet enough already, their adorable pup joined in for a few photos, completely stealing the spotlight for a bit.
With emotions still high, we transitioned naturally into bride and groom portraits. The grounds at The Chart House offered endless scenic backdrops, and the early fall beauty gave everything a soft, romantic glow. Because the day was unfolding so smoothly, we were able to move right into wedding party and family photos without feeling rushed, wrapping up just as the rain began to make its entrance.
As ceremony time approached, we kept a hopeful eye on the sky. A small storm was moving through, but the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. There was just enough of a window to hold the ceremony outdoors and they embraced every second of it. Beneath a canopy of trees, with a gentle drizzle falling and guests gathered under umbrellas, Heather and Josh exchanged their vows. The soft rain created an atmosphere that felt incredibly cozy and intimate, as if everyone was tucked into a moment meant just for them. Then, with one joyful kiss, they were officially pronounced husband and wife.
The celebration flowed effortlessly into cocktail hour, where laughter, clinking glasses, and warm embraces filled the air. Guests mingled over delicious drinks and hors d’oeuvres as they made their way into the reception space. After everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner, heartfelt toasts followed leaving the room glowing with love and support for the newlyweds.
As if perfectly planned, the sun reemerged just in time for golden hour. We slipped back outside, where warm light poured through the gardens and wrapped Heather and Josh in the dreamiest glow. It was a quiet, romantic pause in the middle of an already incredible day. One last chance to breathe it all in before the party truly began.
From cake cutting to a packed dance floor, the night unfolded into an unforgettable celebration. Loved ones gathered close, music filled the room, and the joy was absolutely contagious. In every way, Heather and Josh’s wedding day was a reflection of who they are: genuine, joyful, and deeply in love.
