Leah & Grant’s wedding day at Mayowood Stone Barn was the perfect blend of calm and joyful celebration. From the moment the day began, there was an unmistakable sense of ease and excitement in the air. The bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready in the beautiful onsite bridal suite, and throughout it all, Leah and Grant radiated a peaceful, grounded energy that set the tone for the entire day.
As Leah stepped into her wedding dress, the room instantly filled with emotion. She shared first looks with her Dad, Stepdad, and Grandpa—each moment filled with heartfelt hugs and happy tears. When her Grandpa turned the corner and saw her for the first time, he was completely overcome with emotion, creating a moment so genuine and moving that there truly wasn’t a dry eye around.
Soon after, it was time for Leah and Grant’s first look. This is always one of my favorite moments to photograph, as all the anticipation and nerves disappear the second they see one another. Following their first look, Leah and Grant read private vows together—an intimate, deeply emotional moment that felt incredibly personal and special.
The day continued effortlessly as we moved through bride and groom portraits, wedding party photos, and family photos. Soon, it was time for the ceremony. Mayowood Stone Barn is one of my favorite venues to photograph, offering both beautiful indoor and outdoor ceremony options. Leah and Grant chose the indoor space, which provided a timeless and romantic backdrop as they committed their lives to one another in front of their closest family and friends.
After the ceremony, a light rain began to fall—giving us the perfect opportunity for some fun and creative bride and groom portraits. With clear umbrellas in hand, we embraced the weather, and these ended up being some of my favorite images from the entire day.
The celebration continued into the reception, which Leah and Grant kicked off with their first dance as husband and wife. This is a trend I’m seeing more and more, and it’s quickly become one of my favorites. The evening was filled with incredible food, sweet desserts, and nonstop dancing. One especially touching moment was a surprise dance Leah planned for her mom—an emotional highlight that had me in tears as I captured every second.
Leah & Grant’s wedding was the perfect way to kick off the 2025 wedding season, and I couldn’t have been more honored to document such a beautiful beginning to their forever.
